Client Spotlight - Bryan Spear

Bryan Spear is one of Bee’s Knees Print Studio’s favorite designers. His vintage, bold, nostalgic style is so unique, and he’s just a genuinely nice and helpful dude in Austin, Texas. In the early days of Bee’s Knees, we were looking high and low for an illustrator to make us some cool retro art for shop shirts, and Bryan delivered in a big way. Shortly after printing his commissioned artwork on our own stuff, Bryan reached out and we’ve been doing small batches of stuff for him ever since.

Here’s some stuff we’ve made for Bryan over the years.

The Heart.

There’s just something about a crisp black print on a heather grey tee. Bryan reached out mid-COVID and asked me to print these simple and powerful shirts for him to remind everyone out there that while we may be locked down and socially distant, The Heart is an Infinite Universe.

Breakfast Club.

If you don’t love breakfast foods, we’re gonna have a problem. Bryan hit us up a while back to print some bright yellow on black tees for a little brand release he did, and we were dying for some french toast all day.

The design that started it all! At the time, this was the most colors Bee’s Knees had ever printed, and since we’d just gotten a press that could handle it, we went all out. Bryan was the artist we went with because his style was exactly what we were looking for, and they couldn’t have come out better.
